The anesthesiologist will administer various anesthetic techniques in operating rooms and obstetrical suites while supervising residents and medical students. They are also responsible for performing on-call assignments and providing clinical coverage as required by the department.
The Department of Anesthesiology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/per diem General Anesthesiologist. The successful candidate will:
Administer anesthesia to all patients through anesthetic techniques (general, regional, & sedation) in general operating room ambulatory setting and obstetrical suite.
Participate in clinical operating room supervision for residents and medical students as required by the department.
Mentor residents and medical students in the operating room.
Perform on-call assignments as required by the department, to include clinical service in general operating room, OB, and ambulatory coverage.
Perform call commitment, as needed and/or required.
Candidates must hold a Medical Doctor degree and possess a valid New York State medical license. Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency and board certification or eligibility are required.
