About the role

The Assistant Teacher collaborates with the lead teacher to create an engaging learning environment and supports children's development. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate records, ensuring safety during bus transport, and assisting with classroom activities.

Job Status: Full time (36 hours/week), 9-Months Per Year, Union Position LOCATION: Willmar, MN

Help create an amazing learning environment for young children! As a Head Start Assistant Teacher, you'll work side by side with our Head Start Teacher to spark curiosity, build independence, and inspire little learners - all while supporting parents to become their child's greatest advocate.

  • Program: Support recruitment and enrollment efforts to spread the word about Head Start.
  • Ensure
  • Safety: Safely monitor the Head Start bus and transport children to and from the center.

Education and experience

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • At least one (1) year of experience working with children ages 3-5.
  • A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Early Childhood Degree - or the ability to obtain it within two years.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification - or ready to get certified.
