About the role

The student mentor attends class, meets with the supervising professor, and creates lesson plans. They facilitate weekly mentor sessions to support student academic success and provide guidance on campus resources.

Fall 2026 Student Mentor: ECN 286 Econometrics with Professor Lee

This position serves one or both sections of the course. Before applying, please make sure you are available for both of the following times:

Tuesday/Thursday 8-9: 20

Tuesday/Thursday 1: 10-2:30

You must have previously taken and successfully passed ECN 286 Grinnell College to be considered.

The student serves as a positive academic and social resource to others by promoting academic success, persistence and providing direction to appropriate services and staff. Must be able to maintain confidentiality with shared information and possess strong interpersonal and creative problem solving skills.

Duties

Academic Success Center Mentors attend class, meet with supervising professor, create lesson plans, and facilitate weekly mentor sessions for students in that class. This totals a maximum of 8 hours per week.
