About the role

The student grader is responsible for evaluating student papers, examinations, and laboratory reports in a timely and objective manner. They must also maintain confidentiality regarding student performance and coordinate with faculty members as needed.

The student provides diverse services outside of the classroom. Duties may include grading student papers, examinations, and/or laboratory reports. Understanding or capacity to learn course content at a level sufficient to solve or explain assignments independently, and to evaluate student work fairly and objectively. Requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Duties

Students will bring existing sociological knowledge relevant to the course and/or attend some class sessions as needed for the assignments to be assessed and will evaluate student work in keeping with supervisor's directions and in a timely manner, raising any questions or concerns as they arise. Students are expected to maintain confidentiality about how near peers are performing in the course and alert the faculty member if there are any close associations so they will not assist in the evaluation of close friends in the process.
