You will oversee and coordinate the children’s personal care, learning activities, specialized programs, and positive guidance while practicing and modeling Conscious Discipline throughout the classroom. Day-to-day activities will include maintaining classroom records and developmental checklists, supervising and directing activities of assistant teachers assigned to the classroom, and ensuring that the classroom and other play areas are consistently clean, organized, and safe. You will also keep the director informed on a timely basis of pertinent issues regarding staff, children, families, and the program.
Understands and complies with all Ivy Kids Brand standards & State Standards General Plans and implements daily afterschool activities, summer camp curriculum activities, and lesson plans as per Ivy Kids Standards. Has knowledge of state standards and ability to follow Ivy Kids Critical Procedures. Attend staff meetings and trainings. Transport children to and from school and field trip venues. (drive a 14-passenger non-CDL bus) Interaction with Parents, Staff, and Director Assists in training new staff and familiarizing them with program practices, forms, and schedules. Communicates appropriately with parents and children. Health and Safety Understands and implements all Critical procedures. Implements appropriate procedures in the event of an emergency Administers CPR/First aid if needed Properly maintains educational materials and equipment Ensures all sanitization procedures are followed as regulated by childcare licensing Keeps the classroom and other play areas safe, neat, and clean.
Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must repeatedly lift and carry children up to 50+ pounds. Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with children and parents. The lead teacher must maintain at least 24 hours of training each year.
