About the role

Assistant Teacher

Bethlehem, PA | Part Time, Hourly; Shift Opportunities Available Monday-Friday 6am-6pm | $14.00-$17.00 per hour

  • What is needed for this job
  • High school diploma
  • Associate/Bachelor degree or college credits from an accredited college or university in childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field preferred
  • Are 21+ and have 2+ years of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or familial capacity
  • Desire to work with Infants to Toddlers, ages 0-2 years
  • Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
  • Ability to pass all relevant clearances

  • Finding new and engaging ways to help kids learn
  • Being patient and kind with our parents
  • Cultivating and fostering a safe and nurturing environment that will encourage physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of children in the program
  • Adjusting curriculum to ensure that all children meet the learning objectives
  • Utilizing state and YMCA guidelines to ensure the safety and well being of the children
