The Program Specialist will assist in facilitating STEM projects, recreational activities, and enrichment sessions for middle school students. They are also responsible for building positive relationships with youth, maintaining a safe environment, and managing program logistics like setup and attendance.
The Tuckahoe Family YMCA is looking for an energetic, positive role model for our STAR (Strengthening Teens Academically and Recreationally) outreach after school program at Quioccasin Middle School.
Candidates need to be available Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday afternoons from 3-5:30pm from October through April.
Experience working with multilingual learners and middle school youth is preferred.
This pat-time position will be 12 hours per week between October and April.
The salary band for this position is $13-$15.00 per hour.
DUTIES for the STAR Outreach Program Program Specialist will work closely with the lead program specialist to assist with facilitating STEm projects, recreational activities and enrichment sessions designed for students.
Building strong relationships with students, maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, and supervising youth during program hours.
Help with setup, cleanup, materials organization, attendance tracking and general program flow.
QUALIFICATIONS for the STAR Outreach Program Candidates must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and at least six months of programmatic experience and dual language would be a plus but not necessary.
