About the role

The lead program specialist facilitates after-school activities and supervises middle school students in the STAR program. This role involves maintaining a welcoming environment and supporting multilingual learners in grades 6-8.

The Tuckahoe Family YMCA is looking for an energetic, positive role model for our STAR (Strengthening Teens Academically and Recreationally) outreach after school program at Quioccasin Middle School.

Candidates need to be available Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday afternoons from 3-5:30pm from October through April.

Experience working with multilingual learners and middle school youth is preferred.

This part-time position will be 12 hours per week between October and April.

The salary band for this position is $17-$19 per hour.

DUTIES for the STAR Outreach Program The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable program specialist to help deliver our Strengthening Teens Academically and Recreationally (STAR) program at Quioccasin Middle School.

This role supports the lead program specialist in facilitating activities, supervising students, and maintaining a welcoming environment for multilingual learners in grades 6-8.

Experience working with multilingual learners and middle school youth is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS for the STAR Outreach Program Candidates must have at least six months' experience working with youth, preferably middle school.

Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.

Strong relationship building, mentoring, communication, and leadership skills.

Basic comfort with technology and STEM activities.

Commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and service to diverse populations.
