Louis.Job Summary The Substitute Teacher provides instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular teacher.

The Substitute Teacher follows established lesson plans, maintains classroom routines, and supports a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment consistent with the Catholic identity and mission of the school.Job Responsibilities

Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the regular teacher.

Deliver instruction and assist students with assigned coursework and activities.

Maintain classroom routines, expectations, and appropriate student behavior.

Take attendance and complete required classroom documentation.

Provide supervision during class, transitions, lunch, recess, dismissal, and other assigned activities.

Adapt to different subjects, classrooms, grade levels, and student needs.

Encourage student participation and provide appropriate guidance and support.

Communicate student concerns, incidents, and relevant classroom information to school administration or the regular teacher.

Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment.

Support the Catholic identity and mission of the school, including prayer, religious instruction, and faith-based activities as appropriate.

Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

Maintain confidentiality regarding student and school information.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred.

Valid substitute teaching license or permit, if required by the state or diocese.

Previous experience working with children or adolescents preferred.

Ability to follow lesson plans and manage classroom activities effectively.

Strong communication, organization, flexibility, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

Commitment to supporting the Catholic faith, mission, and values of the school.

Successful completion of required background screening, child-safety training, and other diocesan requirements.
