Overview

Position Summary

Greets, assists, and follows up with clients interested in the services of Goodwill Industries of San Diego County’s Community Employment Centers. Ensures that clients know about the job search services offered by Goodwill Industries of San Diego County at the Center and helps to enroll clients into our centers. Responsible for helping the community employment center serve and assist designated amount of clients annually.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable Accommodations Statement: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Essential Functions Statements: Greets, assists, and assess the needs of clients who either call or visit the Community Employment Center. Helps to create a friendly, safe, productive environment for the job seeker. Maintains a caseload of clients helping them identify skills, completes Skill Assessment Action Plan, and coaches them through the job search process. Searches for job leads daily to assist job seekers with job search and updates Job boards accordingly. Coordinates and helps set up job fairs, employer panels, and all other CEC events. Assists with GISD Hiring Days by printing sign in sheets, printing applications, setting up the rooms for the event and informing job seekers of the services available in the CECs. Acts as a back-up for the CA IIs in conducting in person and virtual workshops. Provides assistance to clients in their job search by identifying appropriate job leads, by helping them in the application process, by providing training in resume building and interview skills. Follows up with clients by scheduling one-on-one appointments, calling clients to coach and encourage them in working on their action plan. Makes follow up calls to clients to reminds them of appointments at the center, attendance to workshops, and to see if employment has been secured. Enrolls job seekers in Job Readiness Certificate Program no less than two monthly. Submit no less than two success stories (with a photograph) a month of job seekers who have used the services and obtained employment. Maintains accurate records of clients by updating files and inputting information into ETO. Reviews placements in ETO bi-monthly, monthly, quarterly, and annually to ensure that information is accurately inputted and consistent with client files. Organizes and maintains the operations of the center by updating job boards, assembling client files, ordering supplies, setting up computer stations, and keeping the center clean and orderly. Assists in the outreach to the community to promote the resources of the Community Employment Center to potential clients. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Education: AA, BA, or BS preferred.

Experience

Requirements

Candidates should possess one to two years of relevant experience and strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office. An Associate, Bachelor, or equivalent degree is preferred for this role.
