Respond thoughtfully to students’ academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs. Collaborate with faculty and administrators to provide a safe and consistent experience for students. Model Pingry’s Honor Code and hold students to the School’s academic and behavioral expectations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or current senior standing in an education degree program with substantial supervised classroom experience. Previous classroom teaching, student teaching, or comparable instructional experience is required. Experience teaching or working closely with middle school-aged students. Demonstrated classroom management skills and the ability to establish expectations, maintain routines, and redirect behavior appropriately. Ability to implement lesson plans across subject areas with limited preparation time. Patience, sound judgment, flexibility, and an understanding of the developmental needs of early adolescents. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and administrators. Comfort using Google Classroom, Veracross, and Google Workspace applications. Flexibility to work within the School’s rotating schedule and respond to changing daily assignments. Commitment to Pingry’s mission, Honor Code, and DEIB values and to contributing to a culture of equity, belonging, respect, and shared responsibility. Schedule and Compensation This is an on-call, per-diem position based at Pingry’s Basking Ridge Campus. The frequency of assignments will vary based on the needs of the Middle School.
