Classroom Support Assistant

The incumbent supports the classroom teacher in meeting the individualized education plan goals for children with disabilities by providing one-On-One support and implementing established iep goals and lesson plans. Responsibilities also include collaborating on disability identification, attending iep meetings, assisting with observations, and maintaining required staff-To-Child ratios.

A minimum of a high school diploma or ged is required, though a child development associate (Cda) is preferred, along with at least one year of experience working with children aged three to five. Candidates must be able to read and implement strategies outlined in individual education plans (Ieps).
