Core responsibilities
The exercise instructor will provide direct leadership, instruction, and motivation to members in group exercise classes, focusing on creating a safe and positive atmosphere. Key duties include designing classes to improve fitness components, building member relationships, maintaining equipment, and assisting with program statistics.
Requirements summary
Candidates need at least one year of experience leading challenging yet safe classes and knowledge of group exercise fitness components; national or ymca specific fitness certifications are preferred. Current cpr, first aid, aed, and oxygen certifications are preferred, and all staff must pass background checks and complete required training.
