FT ELC Assistant Teacher

The early childhood assistant teacher supports the group teacher by assisting with instructional, clerical, and classroom tasks while ensuring a safe, fun, and positive environment for enrolled participants. This role involves aiding in the education, health, welfare, and safety of children while adhering to ymca core values.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma and two years of classroom aide experience; those with only a high school diploma must enroll in and complete a cda program within the first year. Candidates must also obtain and maintain cpr, epi, asthma, and first aid certifications within 90 days of hire and possess the physical stamina for active participation with children.
