Lactation Registered Nurse Specialist

The specialist educates and assists breastfeeding mothers and families, providing direct and indirect patient care while serving as a resource for the healthcare team. Key duties include performing breastfeeding assessments, identifying nursing diagnoses, collaborating with physicians, and teaching prenatal classes.

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in nursing (Bsn) and hold a current registered professional nurse license in new york state. Required credentials also include certification as an international board certified lactation consultant (Ibclc), along with 5-7 years of technical experience.
