This position provides direct instruction to students in classrooms and monitoring of progress, and supports students in learning academics, functional living skills, and appropriate behaviors and social skills. Teacher Assistants/Classroom Behavior Specialists are trained by clinicians in applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and other areas, and work with a supportive team that includes Special Education Teachers, BCBAs, Speech/Language pathologists, psychologists and more!

Education, Experience and Special Skills
- Candidates must have completed at least two years of a college or the equivalent of 60 college credits
- In lieu of a college experience, candidates must have a Teacher Assistant certification or a Para-Pro/Para-Pathways certification
- Experience working with children with autism and developmental disabilities to implement vocational and recreational activities ensuring their health and safety
- Must be able to read, write, and speak in English proficiently
- Ability to speak, see & hear clearly/audibly, as well as write legibly for documentation
- Basic computer skills
- Professional, patient, helpful and respectful communication skills with staff, students, their families or other parties
- Ability to intervene with clients when needed to implement behavioral inventions including physical restraint and lifting
- Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, reach and/or move regularly
- Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing for at least three years
- Transportation of students via company vans or personal vehicles is required
- CPR/First Aid Certification required (We provide training if needed)
- Teacher Assistant Certification required (We provide training if needed)
- Safety Care training (We provide training if needed)
