Kingsley is looking for applicants for the position of Upper Elementary Assistant Teacher. We seek reflective, intentional educators who want to contribute to a progressive, integrated curriculum informed by Montessori pedagogy and principles. As an Assistant Teacher, this individual will share responsibility with Lead Teachers, for all aspects of each of our students’ classroom experience and for developing strong partnerships with parents and colleagues. Other important duties include advancing your professional and personal growth and fulfilling administrative duties. All teachers attend regular meetings and share responsibilities with other faculty in the areas of curriculum management, classroom schedules, record keeping, student needs, and the classroom environment. Upper Elementary Assistant Teachers report to the Director of Elementary Education.
This role reports directly to the Director of Elementary. Expected working hours will be 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and one day a week 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to help support KMS Auxiliary Programming and will include occasional evening commitments. Candidates with independent school experience, advanced degrees and strong backgrounds teaching and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) work will be preferred.
BA/BS degree required; MA degree preferred American Montessori Society (AMS) or Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) teaching credentials are a plus but are not required Experience with a variety of instructional methods and multi-age learning environments Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance curriculum and community Commitment to meeting the needs of each child Commitment to professional growth and best practices in education

Kingsley is committed to equitable compensation for all faculty. Faculty salaries are determined based on an experience-based step scale, ensuring fair pay for those with similar teaching experience. Starting salaries for full-time teachers typically range from $42,000-57,000.
