Core responsibilities
The peer specialist will guide and support program participants in completing the seven challenges harm reduction program while maintaining accurate attendance and incentive point records. Responsibilities also include providing recovery supports like educational/Vocational and life skills assistance, supervising participants on field trips, and assisting with necessary client transportation.
Requirements summary
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency with commensurate experience working with adolescents with substance use disorders is required, though a bachelor's degree in behavioral or social sciences is preferred. Candidates must possess peer specialist certification or demonstrated success in this area, along with cultural sensitivity and the ability to communicate effectively with streetwise youth.
