The Teacher is responsible for creating a responsive, age-appropriate experience that fosters the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth of the children while directing the classroom professionally and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment. Study Plan eligible with the following requirements: 3-year-old class: 90 college credits with a study plan that is acceptable to the DOHMH leading to an Early Childhood degree with Early Childhood Certification (B-Grade 2) in required timeline 4-year-old class: BA in ECE or related field or study plan that is acceptable to the DOHMH leading to an Early Childhood degree with Early Childhood Certification (B-Grade 2) within 3 years 1 year of classroom experience teaching children up to 3rd grade if the individual has a Bachelor's degree in any other subject area NYS licensed or approved study plan teacher in accordance with the NYC Department of Health regulations which include a plan to meet NYS certification requirements within 3-7 years. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently. Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task Qualifications Preferred: Master's degree in early childhood education or related field with NYS Early Childhood certification Will support families that predominantly speak Spanish or Bengali and others, may be required depending on client needs.
Uncertified Teacher - $23.05 - $30.05/ hr Certified Teacher - $38.99 to $43.83/ hr Newly hired Teacher's will be eligible for a $3,000 Sign on bonus. Masters Certified Teachers may be eligible for an additional $1,200. Additional compensation could be applied if candidates has a CDA. The Child Center of NY is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
