The camp specialist is responsible for creating a safe environment and developing an appropriate curriculum for their assigned specialty area under the direction of the summer camp director. Essential functions include assisting in assuring camper safety and health, planning and implementing age-Appropriate lesson plans daily, and maintaining equipment.

Requirements summary

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess three years of previous experience in camping, recreation, teaching, or childcare, along with specialized knowledge and certification in their area of expertise. Required qualifications also include excellent human relations skills, cpr/Aed and first aid certification (Or ability to obtain within 90 days), and commitment to the ymca's mission and values.
