  • AMS is seeking a passionate and dedicated 1st Grade Teacher to join our team at the AMS Power Campus in Mesa for the 2026–2027 school year.
  • The 1st Grade Teacher plays a key role in strengthening students’ early literacy, foundational math skills, and independent learning habits.
  • The ideal candidate will create a structured and engaging learning environment that builds on the foundational skills developed in kindergarten while supporting students’ academic confidence and curiosity.

  • Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Achievement Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction aligned with AMS curriculum and Arizona academic standards.
  • Strengthen foundational skills in reading fluency, phonics, writing, and early mathematics.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to guide instructional planning.
  • Differentiate instruction to support students at varying skill levels.
  • Foster independent learning habits and critical thinking skills.
  • Classroom Culture & Student Development Maintain a structured and positive classroom environment with clear expectations.
  • Implement PBIS and proactive classroom management strategies.
  • Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
  • Collaboration & Professional Growth Participate in weekly professional development and PLCs.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional leaders to strengthen instruction.
  • Contribute to school-wide improvement initiatives.
  • Family Engagement Communicate regularly with families about student progress.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences and maintain strong home–school partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications
