  • Academies of Math and Science 2nd Grade Teacher – 2026–2027 School Year Location: 7301 E Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ 85209 Compensation Range: $48,334.25 – $54,571.89 (DOE) Start Date: Summer 2026 Position Overview AMS is seeking a 2nd Grade Teacher for the AMS Power Campus in Mesa who is passionate about helping scholars deepen their reading comprehension, writing skills, and foundational mathematics knowledge.
  • This role focuses on strengthening literacy development while preparing students for increased academic rigor in upper elementary grades.
  • AMS teachers use data-driven instruction, structured classroom systems, and collaborative planning to ensure every scholar makes measurable academic progress.
  • Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Achievement Deliver standards-aligned instruction using AMS curriculum frameworks.
  • Strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary development, writing, and foundational math skills.
  • Use student assessment data to inform instruction and interventions.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Classroom Culture & Student Development Establish a structured, high-expectations classroom culture.
  • Implement PBIS strategies and proactive classroom management.
  • Support social-emotional learning and positive peer interactions.
  • Collaboration & Professional Growth Participate in weekly PLCs and professional development sessions.
  • Collaborate with instructional coaches and grade-level teams.
  • Family Engagement Maintain consistent communication with families about student progress and learning goals.

Minimum Qualifications
