• This role will be full time day shift from Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.

• Responsibilities: Assesses the needs of pediatric diabetic patients and designs, implements and evaluates an individualized teaching plan for each patient. Serves as a resource for patients, community and hospital personnel. Provides nursing care and education to patients with a wide variety of clinical conditions. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor. Provides emotional support to parents and caregivers, this position guides the family through the health system from diagnosis, testing, treatment, and follow-up care including social work, caretaker education and transportation to assist patients with navigating the continuum of care

Minimum Qualifications

Education: BSN or related Bachelors degree Licensure: Registered Nurse is required if the team member has a BSN. If team member has BSN they must also have an RN license and be eligible to practice in VA.

Experience

• 3 years of progressive clinical experience
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association. Certified Diabetes Educator upon start.
