Childbirth Educator, PRN

The childbirth educator informs and empowers new and expectant parents through evidence-Based perinatal health education, providing instruction on birth preparation, newborn care, and/Or breastfeeding according to expertise. Responsibilities include planning activities, delivering instruction based on the specified curriculum, utilizing learning aids, and responding to participant questions.

Candidates must possess at least an associate’s degree and relevant certification, such as lamaze certified childbirth educator, though registered nurses may be exempt from specific education certifications. Licensure as a registered nurse in virginia is required for adn or bsn holders, and bls certification from aha is mandatory within three months of hire.
