- Summary of position: The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy. The Program Assistant, CET & Training Program is a full-time position split between the Center for Effective Therapy (CET), the Baker Center’s outpatient training clinic (75%) and the Training Program (25%). The Training Program facilitates the professional development of individuals currently enrolled in graduate education in health service professions (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling) who seek to gain experience working in the direct service programs at the Baker Center. The Training Program supports trainees at the practicum, internship, and fellowship level, including an APA-accredited doctoral psychology internship program. In the CET portion of the position, the Program Assistant will provide direct administrative and operational assistance in support of business and clinical operations to the Senior Director of Outpatient Clinical Services, Assistant Directors of CET, Directors of Business and Clinical Operations, and staff clinicians and internal trainees. The Program Assistant will report to the Assistant Director of CET in this portion of the role. In the Training Program portion of the position, the Program Assistant will support the Director of Training in the annual training cycle, including recruitment and interviewing of candidates, onboarding new trainees, managing the trainee evaluation process, maintaining records for accreditation, and facilitating monthly meetings with the faculty Training Committee. We are looking for an individual who is excited about supporting a collaborative, dynamic team of professionals working to improve mental health care for youth and families. Individuals seeking experience in the mental health field prior to applying to graduate school in clinical psychology or another related field are strongly encouraged to apply. Individuals in this position will be exposed to a range of evidence-based treatments and have the opportunity to shadow diagnostic interviews and treatment sessions and audit clinical trainings such as MATCH, PCIT, and TF-CBT. - Essential duties:
- Coordinates the intake process for families by conducting in-depth clinical phone interviews with caregivers, coordinating with providers regarding client referrals, answering clinic questions, managing assessment scheduling, facilitating case assignment, and maintaining client waitlists.
- Assists with office management services such as: checking in clients, processing payments, and communicating with clients via phone and email.
- Administers, scores, and interprets standardized assessment questionnaires and support undergraduate volunteers in these efforts.
- Assists in writing portions of diagnostic assessment reports and pediatrician letters.
- Administers behavioral assessments of children’s emotional and social development during initial evaluation.
- Coordinates application process of trainees.
- Posts position announcements and collaborate with HR during recruitment and onboarding process.
- Schedules trainee interviews.
- Oversees trainee evaluation and feedback process.
- Supports the Directors of CET and Training Program in other administrative and operational support as needed.
Qualifications

- A Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Psychology, or related field, from an accredited academic program.
Experience
• 1-2 years of clinical experience with children.
Training
- Experience with statistical analysis for quality improvement or evaluation purposes.
- Experience with SPSS or other statistical software.
- Knowledge of mental health, education, child welfare, and/or juvenile justice systems.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills that allow for skillful interactions with caregivers, children, staff, undergraduate volunteers, and professionals from other fields.
- Strong project coordination skills.
- Ability to work and complete assignments independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must be able to demonstrate discretion and independent judgement while collaborating with a team.
