- Summary of position: The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Staff Psychologist provides high quality mental health treatments to a culturally diverse population of children from kindergarten through high school, utilizing trauma-informed and evidence-based practice (EBP). The staff psychologist functions as the internal case manager and team-leader for their assigned students and will actively participate in all Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Meetings. The staff psychologist is also responsible for psychological evaluation of students as part of their three-year re-evaluation and when requested for extended evaluations as part of a 45-day assessment classroom. Qualifying individuals are eligible for a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School and the academic rank for this appointment is expected to be at the Instructor level. Regular teaching would be expected with this academic appointment. What’s in it for me?

Essential duties
- Provides weekly therapeutic services to an assigned caseload of students.
- Co-leads weekly clinical groups that supports identity work and social emotional learning.
- Provides comprehensive case management services to students and their families as assigned by clinical director.
- Provides clinical assessments and diagnostic impressions for students and families in a bio-psychosocial format.
- Develops clinical treatment plans and the implementation of structured treatment approaches.
- Provides cognitive and psychological assessments of students as part of 3-year re-evaluations for special education services and as requested for extended evaluations as part of a 45-day assessment classroom.
- Writes detailed reports specifying results and recommendations for treatment and educational programming.
- Chairs and actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings consisting of medical staff, teachers, school specialist and milieu counseling staff.
- Works collaboratively with outside service providers associated with a student's case.
- Provides consultation, risk assessment, and crisis intervention as necessary and requested.
- Engages and provides clinical treatment to high-risk family systems.
- Provides regular, scheduled clinical supervision to graduate student trainees and ensures that all academic standards of the referring graduate program are met.
- Completes all required clinical documentation in our EMR, including intakes, progress and contact notes, treatment plans, and meeting notes.
- Participates in all staff and department meetings, as appropriate.

Qualifications
- Education:
- Doctorate in Clinical, Counseling or School Psychology.
- Licensed Psychologist and Health Service Provider in good standing in Massachusetts or interest in transferring out-of-state licensure.
- Candidates with their doctorate in School, Clinical or Counseling Psychologist who are in the process of obtaining licensure will also be considered.
Experience
- 3 years of experience within a fast-paced environment, and exposure to school, inpatient and residential settings, preferred.
- Experience or familiarity with evidence-based practices (CBT and/or DBT are especially beneficial).
- Experience with cognitive and psychological assessment, and the ability to write comprehensive integrated reports.
- Clinical supervision experience of psychology practicum and doctoral level psychology interns preferred.
Logistics License/Certification
Licensed Psychologist and Health Service Provider in good standing in Massachusetts or interest in transferring out-of-state licensure. Candidates with their doctorate in School, Clinical or Counseling Psychologist who are in the process of obtaining licensure will also be considered.
