Job description

DuBois Integrity Academy is currently hiring a Second Special Education Co-Teacher. DuBois Integrity STEM Academy's academic program is built on two main pillars that drive significant achievement—STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) combined with Blended Learning. We utilize theme-based, interdisciplinary, integrated curricula to enhance instruction and learning. A mix of tightly-controlled behavioral studies and innovative neurological research supports theme-based education as a way to increase success opportunities for all learners.

The Second Grade Special Education Co-Teacher will work collaboratively with a general education teacher to provide high-quality instruction and support to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in an inclusive classroom setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of co-teaching models, be skilled in differentiation, and be committed to helping all students achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Collaboration & Co-Teaching
  • Implement a variety of co-teaching models (e.g., team teaching, parallel teaching, station teaching, alternative teaching, one teach/one support) based on student needs and instructional goals.
  • Co-plan daily and weekly lessons with the general education teacher to ensure instruction is accessible and appropriately modified for students with IEPs.
  • Provide small-group or individualized instruction within the general education classroom.
  • Use data to inform instruction, support student progress, and modify interventions as needed.
  • IEP Support & Compliance
  • Assist in the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with the IEP team, including parents, service providers, and school administrators.
  • Monitor the implementation of IEP goals and accommodations/modifications within the general education classroom.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress toward IEP goals.
  • Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings and other related meetings.
  • Communication & Collaboration
  • Maintain ongoing communication with general education teachers, service providers, families, and administrators regarding student progress and needs.
  • Collaborate with support staff and related service providers (e.g., speech/language therapists, occupational therapists, counselors) to align services.
