Job description
- The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Maryland is seeking an Academic Service Specialist to join our leadership team.
- This position will manage the daily operations , regulatory compliance and administrative functions of medical training programs.
- This position acts as a liaison between the residents, faculty and the ACGME ensuring adherence to requirements, managing scheduling, overseeing recruitment via ERAS and supporting accreditation site visits.
- This position will manage recruitment, orientation, graduation and tracking resident/faculty evaluations.
- Coordination of licensing, credentialling and offboarding.
- Ideal candidate will demonstrate high-level organizational skills and excellent communication skills.
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in related field of study is preferred
- Three to five years of administration of a program, preferably in higher education or healthcare setting
- Accurate typing and data entry skills
- Excellent organization and communication (oral and written) skills
- Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite and software used by the department

- The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position.
- Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
- Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
