Temporary American Sign Language Interpreter

Interpreters will provide on-Site interpreting for uaf-Affiliated individuals and guests during academic lectures, professional meetings, performances, and other university activities as needed. Employees must effectively communicate as advocates for clients and participate in required administrative training sessions.

Candidates must be able to accurately interpret spoken language to american sign language and vice versa for various settings, possess a basic understanding of ada and deaf culture, and have prior experience as a professional asl interpreter. Applicants must also provide their own transportation and be legally authorized to work in the us without sponsorship.
