Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor, Social Work

• This position is in-person on the UND campus in Grand Forks, ND

Purpose of position

The mission of the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is to provide excellent and collaborative education, scholarship, and service to advance human well-being for all, with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations.

The CNPD is comprised of three departments

Nursing, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Social Work.

The department of Social Work is seeking a full-time (9-month) faculty member at either the Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor rank. The faculty member will teach primarily in the MSW program - specifically the clinical social work specialization. Teaching assignments may also include other areas of the MSW program and/or the BSSW program depending on enrollment and the needs of the department. This position may also have administrative duties assigned to coordinate the clinical social work specialization.

• UND Social Work faculty teach in both our campus-based and online distance programs (BSSW and Advanced Generalist MSW).
• This individual will contribute to a productive and collegial academic team and will develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with students.
• The department is committed to providing educational access to non-traditional students, especially those interested in serving rural areas and Native American communities.
• In our rural state, our department has strong partnerships with the state Division of Children and Family Services and houses its training arm, the Children and Family Services Training Center.
• Our department is also strongly committed to partnerships with our state’s Tribal communities.

This position is for a full-time (9 month) contract and requires an in-person, on-campus presence. A separate summer (3 month) contract related to field instruction (field seminar and supervision of field placements) may also be available. Additionally, an option to pursue a research agenda may be available.
