Responsibilities

As a Licensed Psychologist with Knowledge Road, you will: Provide direct, high-quality individual and group counseling services to students, as mandated by their Individualized Education Service Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP). Address a comprehensive range of social, emotional, and behavioral concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and complex psychological conditions. Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to inform treatment planning and educational recommendations. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans utilizing various therapeutic modalities tailored to the unique developmental and cultural needs of each student. Collaborate closely with parents, teachers, school administrators, and other mental health professionals to create a holistic and supportive learning environment. Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes in accordance with DOE regulations, HIPAA requirements, and Knowledge Road standards. Actively participate in IESP/IEP meetings, offering expert psychological insights and recommendations to promote student progress and educational planning.

Qualifications

NYS license as a Licensed Psychologist. Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an APA-accredited program. Minimum of 2 years of experience providing psychological services for children and adolescents. Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and teletherapy platforms. NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to obtain prior to start date.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school-based setting or educational environment. Specialized training in child and adolescent therapy modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, play therapy, family therapy).   • Location: This is a part-time, school-day position with a schedule that follows the NYC DOE calendar. You will offer services on-site at one or more schools in Staten Island, with assignments based on student needs. Hours/week are driven by IESP/IEP mandates; caseload may vary by assignment.
