Core responsibilities

The child development center teacher is primarily responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate programming, including writing weekly lesson plans based on children's needs and interests, and developing an anti-Bias culturally relevant curriculum. This role also involves maintaining a safe, clean environment, tending to the physical care and well-Being of the children, and actively participating in the intergenerational program.

Requirements summary

Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of child growth and development and the ability to apply this understanding through activity planning, while also being able to instruct adults and maintain positive relationships with children, co-Workers, and parents. Required qualifications include an aa or cda or equivalent degree in early childhood education, two years of work experience in a child care setting, and obtaining a basic life support (Bls) cpr certification within 90 days of hire.
