Core responsibilities

The developmental specialist provides coaching to families and caregivers, designing learning environments and implementing activities to promote a child's healthy development and skill acquisition according to the individualized family service plan (Ifsp). This role involves collaborating with families and other personnel to address all developmental areas, including cognitive, communication, physical/Motor, social/Emotional, and adaptive development.

Requirements summary

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in early childhood or related fields as defined by the developmental certification policy and must maintain certification as a developmental specialist ii or iii. The role requires adherence to ds licensure requirements and participation in monthly reflective supervision.
