  • Summary: The Special Care Clinic (SCC) serves as a medical home and consultative base for over 3,000 children in our region who are medically complex, in addition to their well siblings. The outpatient Advanced Practice Provider (physician assistant or nurse practitioner) of Clinical Practice will serve as a primary care provider for these patients. They will be responsible for managing their well visits, follow up visits, care coordination, chronic illness management, and treatment of minor and acute illness. As a 1.0 cFTE, the clinical expectation is 6 clinic sessions/week, with an additional 1-2 clinics/month. Each clinic session is four hours in length and this equates to 294 sessions/year. Program leadership holds the right to determine when the admin session can be taken based on clinic need. This is a clinical position, involving clinical work in an outpatient setting, which can include teaching responsibilities for clinical trainees. The position primarily works daytime hours, Monday - Friday.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications

Clinical experience with children who have complex needs. Clinical experience in a pediatric outpatient environment. Clinical experience in a pediatric primary care location. Clinical experience in an academic setting.
