School Nurse

The school nurse is responsible for providing nursing care needs to students during the school day, focusing on health issues affecting safety and learning, including health promotion and illness prevention. Key duties involve health assessment, intervention for urgent concerns, management of chronic conditions, medication administration, and developing individual care plans.

Candidates must be a licensed registered nurse in rhode island or eligible via the nurse licensure compact, with experience in nursing, preferably with children or adolescents. Essential requirements include strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to handle high-Stress situations, and knowledge of psychiatric, behavioral, and developmental conditions in youth.
