Core responsibilities
The parent peer will provide strength-Based rehabilitative support services to parents, advocating for families with children experiencing serious emotional disturbances. They will assist families in navigating multiple agencies and developing healthy coping and problem-Solving skills.
Requirements summary
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and lived experience as a parent, grandparent, or guardian to a child with serious emotional disturbance or mental illness. They must also complete an approved dmh cps-Parent training program upon hire and possess a valid alabama driver's license.
