The special education teaching assistant provides direct support to students by communicating daily needs with lead teachers, organizing classroom materials, observing lessons, and offering individualized assistance and encouragement. Responsibilities also include consistently using behavior trackers and fostering an environment of respect and rapport among students.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma and experience working with children in a school or related setting, with a preference for experience or understanding of the public school system. Candidates must be trained in crisis prevention intervention (Cpi) or be willing to attend the training.
