Core responsibilities
The school social worker will provide individual and group counseling, conduct comprehensive interviews, and maintain accurate documentation regarding student social, emotional, and family challenges affecting academic success. Responsibilities also include developing and updating ieps/Bips, coordinating with external professionals, and overseeing daily site operations as the key liaison.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess a master's degree or higher in social work or a related field, along with current or pending licensure for an illinois state professional educator (Pel) school support personnel (Ssp) credential. Required experience includes working with children, preferably in special education or behavioral health settings, and strong knowledge of aba principles and iep processes.
