Overview
- The division of Pediatric Immunology and Rheumatology at the College of Medicine at the University of Florida is part of the UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital and provides for the care of children with immunodeficiencies and rheumatic conditions.
- This specialized nursing position requires a nurse capable of assessing, intervening, educating, and coordinating care for patients and families diagnosed with pediatric immunodeficiencies and rheumatic disorders.
- This incumbent is responsible for providing education and care coordination for outpatients, assisting with patient phone calls and messages, prescription refills, and insurance authorizations for procedures and medications.
- Registered Nurse will possess specialized knowledge and skills to provide care to patients in an ambulatory setting.
- Will provide clinical nursing assessment, act as patient care advocate, and provide support, counseling, and education to patients.
- Will be responsible for patient case management and/or performs specialized procedures.
- Provides clinical nursing assessment, support, counseling, and direct patient care in an ambulatory setting.
- Works in collaboration with other health care providers and ancillary services.
- Directs clinical staff and maintains mandatory regulatory institutional policy and procedures under the direction of Manager/Medical Director.
- May be required to float to other ACU clinic as needed for staffing.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. 1 year of specialty experience or 2 years of ambulatory care or hospital based experience as a RN required. Current licensure by the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse. Certification in area of specialty preferred. Person should display initiative, has the ability to be multitasking and be able to take on responsibilities. Proven ability to problem-solve and be a team member is essential.Motor
