PROGRAM: Roots to Recovery

Site location: Willimantic, CT

Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-4PM, flexible

About the program: Roots to recovery

  • A Holistic Approach to Substance Use Treatment (R2R) is an intermediate, 24/7 residential treatment for men in need of a structured environment to continue building upon their recovery skills.
  • R2R is located in Willimantic.
  • There are 14 beds and it is a 90 day maximum intermediate (3.5) residential substance abuse treatment program.
  • Clients are referred from intensive treatment programs, emergency room staff and/or detox programs.
  • Clients with co-occurring disorders and on Methadone maintenance are accepted.
  • Clients cannot work during their stay but can start looking for work 3 weeks prior to program completion.

By participating as a Master’s Level Intern with CHR, you can expect to gain firsthand experience and training related to psychiatric & substance abuse diagnostic evaluation and treatment as well as other services, including assessment, consultation, individual, couples, group, family treatment and medication evaluation and monitoring.

Qualifications

Education

Must be enrolled in a master’s degree program in mental health field.

Experience

Demonstrated experience in mental health treatment preferred but not required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license
