Job description

  • Community Access Unlimited is a non-profit social services agency that provides supports to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Such supports include but are not limited to housing, community integration, daily living skills, and employment.
  • General Description: The job developer is responsible for assisting Pre-Employment Transition Services (ETS) students, with disabilities aged 14-21, obtaining worksite locations by assessing their skills and career interests.
  • Develop community partnerships with local businesses for various internship placements.
  • EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE AA Degree in Human Services related field from an accredited college and two years of related Human Services experience.
  • JOB TASKS Provide vocational instruction and job-seeking skills services to students with disabilities, individually and in a group setting.
  • Develop internship sites throughout the community.
  • Gathers information from students, family members, and referring staff to help determine appropriate community-based internships and employment goals.
  • Networks and establishes working relationships with employers, businesses, and agencies in Union and Essex Counties Performs site analyses of specific employment sites to determine suitability of sites for students.
  • Assist interns to overcome barriers to employment and assist with career goals.
  • Assists transportation needs and travel training when needed Provides supports to interns at placement sites Maintains ongoing communication with each student’s referral source and NJDVRS Counselor regarding the student’s progress and status.
  • Maintains records of services provided to students to include processing time sheets bi-weekly.

Shift

Varies throughout the week. Evenings and weekends required as necessary.
