Core responsibilities

The counselor will develop systems for integrating substance abuse treatment with other facility programs and assess inmates to create and implement plans to modify substance abuse problems. They will also conduct substance abuse and tobacco cessation classes, provide ongoing training for staff, and develop community resource linkages.

Requirements summary

Candidates must hold current certification or credentials such as lcdc ii, licdc, lisw, pcc, pc, lsw, licensed physician, licensed psychologist, registered nurse, or psychology assistant as defined by ohio administrative rules. One year of related experience is preferred, along with a valid ohio driver's license and the ability to obtain facility security clearance.
