Assistant Teacher

The assistant teacher supports the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate classroom activities aligned with head start standards and decal regulations under the direction of the center manager and lead teacher. Key duties include assisting with lesson plans, child assessment documentation, supporting classroom routines, ensuring child safety, and engaging with families.

Candidates need a high school diploma or ged, plus either a cda credential or an associate/Baccalaureate degree in ece or a related field within two years of hire for the standard assistant teacher role. Required abilities include demonstrating nurturing interactions, planning effective learning experiences, maintaining discipline, exercising good judgment, and possessing current first aid and pediatric cpr certifications.
