Core responsibilities
The primary caregiver must provide a warm, nurturing, stimulating, safe, and loving environment, planning and implementing culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate educational programs using digital lesson plans to foster children's cognitive, language, social, emotional, and physical skills. Key duties also involve conducting daily health checks, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, fostering strong family partnerships through communication and involvement, and participating in case management meetings.
Requirements summary
Educational requirements vary significantly based on the pcg level, ranging from a high school diploma/Ged with an infant toddler cda for pcg i, up to an advanced degree in child development or education with specific credit hours for pcg iv. All candidates must demonstrate competency in effective teacher-Child interactions, curriculum implementation, and maintaining supportive relationships with very young children, alongside mandatory certifications like tb screening, first aid/Cpr, and completion of required dcf training.
