Summer camp direct support professional (Dsp): Saint Joe’s – Summer 2026
Saint Joe’s is proud to offer a transformative Summer Camp program for students with developmental disabilities in grades 6–12. Our camp blends recreation, education, and community connection in a safe, supportive, and joyful environment. We are seeking compassionate, dependable Summer Camp Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support campers throughout an unforgettable summer experience.

Program overview
- The Summer Camp includes three two‑week sessions featuring enriching, inclusive activities such as:
- Recreational and leisure activities that promote creativity and social connection
- Educational field trips (museums, zoo, and community destinations)
- Therapeutic swimming in an adaptive pool
- Library Story Time with the Cincinnati Public Library
- Accessible hiking experiences with Luke5Adventures using adaptive equipment

What you’ll do
- As a Summer Camp DSP, you’ll play a vital role in supporting campers and enhancing their daily experiences by:
- Providing personal care, mobility assistance, and emotional support
- Assisting campers with daily routines, transitions, and participation in activities
- Engaging campers in recreational, educational, and therapeutic programming
- Supporting campers during field trips and community outings
- Promoting a safe, respectful, inclusive, and dignified environment
- Building positive, trusting relationships with campers, families, and teammates
- Following safety protocols and supporting behavior and medical needs as directed

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable in a fast‑paced camp environment

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting individuals with complex medical or mobility needs
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Willingness to assist with transportation and drive company vehicles, as needed
