Core responsibilities
The childcare teacher develops and implements weekly lesson plans and program goals while interacting daily with all children to encourage their individual development in a safe and positive atmosphere. Responsibilities also include maintaining necessary program records, establishing positive communication with guardians, and ensuring compliance with all quality and licensing requirements.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess 30 credit hours in early childhood, elementary, or a related human services field, or 15 college credit hours plus one year of related experience, along with a current cda certificate. Applicants must also maintain necessary certifications, complete new hire training within 90 days, and be able to meet the physical demands of lifting up to 25 pounds frequently.
