Regular Teacher (PreK-3 REG Gen Ed)

The teacher is responsible for the instruction, progress, and discipline of assigned pupils, which includes developing written lesson plans, establishing positive learning expectations, and evaluating student progress while maintaining accurate records. Essential functions also involve implementing contemporary teaching methods, promoting positive student conduct in classrooms and on school grounds, and communicating with parents and administrators regarding student performance and behavior.

Candidates must have successfully completed all student teaching requirements and coursework necessary to obtain the appropriate teaching certificate(S) issued by the illinois state board of education, such as a professional educator license (Pel) or educator license with stipulations (Els). Required knowledge includes subject matter consistent with certification, contemporary teaching practices, and behavior management techniques, along with the ability to modify instruction and work effectively with all stakeholders.
