Regular Teacher (PreK-3 REG Gen Ed)

The teacher is responsible for the instruction, progress, and discipline of assigned pupils, which includes developing written lesson plans and establishing positive learning expectations for all students. Essential functions also involve implementing instructional methods, evaluating pupil progress, maintaining accurate records, and promoting positive student conduct within the classroom and school grounds.

Candidates must have successfully completed all student teaching requirements and coursework necessary to obtain the appropriate teaching certificate(S) from the illinois state board of education, such as a professional educator license (Pel) or educator license with stipulations (Els). Required knowledge includes subject matter consistent with certification, contemporary teaching practices, and behavior management techniques, along with the ability to modify instruction to meet diverse student needs.
