Classroom Assistant (Special Educational Needs)

The classroom assistant will support pupils with special educational needs under the direction of the class teacher, assisting with educational support, personal care needs, and implementing authorized educational and care plans both inside and outside the classroom. Duties also involve general classroom support, promoting pupil independence, supervising activities, and assisting with administrative tasks like resource preparation and progress recording.

Applicants must meet either option 1 (Level 2 qualification plus 6 weeks of relevant experience) or option 2 (12 months of experience in a formal learning environment) by the time of appointment. Essential criteria also include working knowledge of health and safety, child development needs, safeguarding, and skills in planning, teamwork, flexibility, and positive communication.
