The professional school counselor is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive counseling and guidance program to fully develop students' academic, career, personal, and social abilities. This includes counseling individuals and small groups, consulting with stakeholders, and guiding students through career awareness and educational planning.

Candidates must possess a master’s degree in counseling and guidance and hold a texas education agency counselor certification, along with two years of exemplary teaching experience. Essential abilities include effective written and oral communication, working effectively with diverse populations, and possessing basic computer literacy.
